Wim Vandekeybus

In 1987, Wim Vandekeybus unleashed an artistic storm with his debut for the newly founded company Ultima Vez. What The Body Does Not Remember was not immediately categorised as dance, but as something more visceral: a physical language built on risk, instinct, and split-second decision making. The work earned a Bessie for its uncompromising confrontation of movement and music, and now, nearly four decades on, the landmark piece returns in a rare revival, this time accompanied live by Ensemble Intercontemporain, bringing the percussive, unpredictable score by Thierry De Mey and Peter Vermeersch to life.
